Good morning Resident, I haven't updated My Community Voice for a while and felt that residents are likely wondering what I'm getting up to, so I thought I'd provide an update on some of the stuff I've been up to the last 3 shifts. Kent Police received numerous reports of 60+ youths on bicycles riding around Minster-on-Sea, Sheerness and Queenborough. I've located the group and made efforts to disband them. At my request a Section 34 dispersal order was put in place and after this we have thankfully not had any further reports. I've managed to identify the youth that arranged the event and I have given him stern words of advice about doing this with their parents being aware. During the ‘ride out' a youth on a bicycle has collided with a car and this element has been dealt with thanks to my colleagues from the Neighbourhood Task Force who assisted me.Made multiple checks on the bus shelter on Chequers Road where I have been told there is a homeless male residing.Submitted numerous intel reports.Made attempts to arrest an individual outstanding for domestic related offences.Responded to multiple emergency calls, including a concern for a high risk missing person, youth riding around on modified bicycles, youths causing criminal damage and so on.Forced entry into a home after concerns raised for the occupant. Ambulance service called and occupant taken away to hospital and a referral made to RSPCA and social services regarding the state of the property.Located a missing person and returned them to their home address.Dealt with a road traffic collision. Concerns raised for drivers eyesight so arranged for other officers to re-attend the address and conduct checks with one of the drivers in daylight hours.Attended reports of youths on electric bikes and have driven them away from the location they were causing issues and not received any further reports afterwards. This is just a small part of the actions I'm taking every day to help residents of the Minster Cliff ward and the larger Swale area. My next community surgery is on 11/02/2026 between 15:00 and 17:00 and will be held at Minster-on-Sea Parish Council building at the top of Love Lane. Kind regards, PC 15100 Matt Saddington |
